Details Emerge on Fatal Shooting Involving Union Minister's Nephews in Bhagalpur
Shooting Incident Involving Union Minister's Family
Recent developments have shed light on a tragic shooting incident involving the nephews of Nityanand Rai, the Union Minister of State for Home, in Navgachiya, Bhagalpur. Reports suggest that the murder was premeditated, with plans laid out approximately 15 hours prior to the incident. A long-standing land dispute between the two nephews, Vishwajit and Jaijit, escalated into violence, culminating in Vishwajit fatally shooting Jaijit, who retaliated before succumbing to his injuries. Jaijit is currently in critical condition, and their mother was also injured during the altercation.
Premeditated Murder Plot Revealed
The ongoing feud over property division between Vishwajit and Jaijit had been simmering for years. The night before the shooting, tensions peaked, with Vishwajit confiding in his wife about acquiring a firearm and his intention to shoot Jaijit first. Despite her pleas for him to reconsider, he remained determined, warning her that if he were to die, she would regret not stopping him.
Minor Dispute Escalates to Tragedy
On Thursday morning, a trivial disagreement between the wives of the two brothers over water usage reignited the conflict. The situation quickly escalated, leading Vishwajit to shoot Jaijit in the jaw. In retaliation, Jaijit shot Vishwajit in the chest, resulting in his immediate death. Their mother, Meena Devi, was also injured, suffering a gunshot wound to her hand, and is currently receiving medical care in Bhagalpur. Jaijit remains in critical condition at a hospital in Patna.
Union Minister Nityanand Rai's Response
In the aftermath of the shooting, Union Minister Nityanand Rai visited his sister's home to console the grieving family. However, he avoided addressing media questions regarding the violent incident. As he left the Circuit House, he quickly entered his vehicle, rolling up the windows while reporters inquired about the alleged presence of illegal firearms in his family home. The minister did not respond to the questions and departed promptly.
