Destruction of Hindu Idols in Karachi Sparks Outrage
Incident in Karachi Raises Concerns
A distressing incident has emerged from Karachi, Pakistan's financial hub, where the religious sentiments of minorities have been severely hurt. The idols of Lord Krishna and the Gopis, located in the historic 'Sagan Mason' building, have reportedly been vandalized. This act has led to significant anger and fear within the local Hindu community.
Shiv Kachhi, the president of Pakistan Darwar Ittehad, condemned the destruction of the idols in the historic Sagan Mason building in Karachi.
He stated, “We strongly denounce this shameful act.” Kachhi revealed that the incident occurred two days ago. In a social media post, he emphasized, “This is not just an attack on a structure, but an assault on Pakistan's multicultural heritage, religious harmony, and the sentiments of minority communities.”
He further urged the government to investigate the incident and take action against those responsible, as this act has deeply hurt the Hindu community. Kachhi insisted, “The culprits should be arrested without delay and given severe punishment.
Immediate restoration and preservation of this historic building must be ensured.” Constructed in 1937 during the pre-independence era, this building houses invaluable idols and other religious symbols of the Hindu community.
