Chandra Kumar Bose's Departure from TMC

On August 3, in Kolkata, Chandra Kumar Bose, the great-grandson of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, announced his resignation from the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He expressed his disillusionment with mainstream political parties, stating that he sees no significant difference between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the TMC led by Mamata Banerjee. Bose had joined TMC just four months prior to the West Bengal assembly elections.

Previously, he had referred to his decision to join the BJP as a mistake, having served as the party's state vice president. Bose has consistently emphasized that his political ideology is rooted in the principles of Netaji rather than any specific party.

He announced plans to guide a proposed political organization led by youth, which will be inspired by Netaji's ideals and aims to offer an alternative to divisive and confrontational politics. In a statement to the media, he remarked, “I have been part of the Forward Bloc, BJP, and TMC. I have become disenchanted with mainstream political parties.”

Bose further elaborated, stating that all these parties are essentially the same, representing two sides of the same coin.
