Delhi's Rainfall Management: No Major Waterlogging Despite Heavy Downpour

New Delhi, August 7 - On Friday, Pravesh Sahib Singh, the Minister of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Delhi, announced that despite the heavy rainfall throughout the day, critical areas prone to waterlogging remained clear of accumulated water. Meanwhile, efforts to drain water in other affected regions are ongoing. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert for the capital, as torrential rains disrupted daily life in Delhi. Low-lying areas experienced flooding, major roads were blocked, and several neighborhoods were submerged.

The minister stated that issues related to the city's primary waterlogging sites have been addressed. He noted that reports of flooding mainly came from certain villages and rural areas where drainage projects are still under construction. The IMD has forecasted moderate to heavy rainfall in various locations over the next few hours, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
