Delhi Woman Alleges Rape by Hotel Owner During Himachal Vacation

A woman from Delhi has reported a case of rape against a hotel owner in McLeodganj, located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

According to her police complaint, the woman was on vacation in Himachal Pradesh with three friends. On July 20, they checked into a hotel in McLeodganj, where the hotel owner was known to her employer back in Delhi.

Feeling unwell, the woman chose to remain at the hotel while her friends went out to explore. She alleges that the hotel owner, identified as Shubham, entered her room and assaulted her. The victim claims that he threatened her with severe repercussions if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

The police have apprehended the suspect and presented him in court. A case has been filed under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code, and a medical examination of the woman has been conducted.

Bir Bahadur, the Additional Superintendent of Police, confirmed the arrest and stated that an investigation is ongoing.
