Delhi Weather Update: Mild Rain and Temperature Fluctuations Expected

Current Weather Conditions in Delhi

In Delhi, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 18.8 degrees Celsius, which is 0.7 degrees above the normal range, although it is 1.8 degrees lower than the previous day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that there was no rainfall by 9 AM, but overcast skies are anticipated throughout the day.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Sunday, predicting light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kilometers per hour. According to IMD officials, this unusual weather pattern in March is linked to western disturbances affecting northwestern India.

Temperature Forecast and Air Quality Index

The IMD forecasts that the maximum temperature will hover around 31-33 degrees Celsius over the next few days. Due to the cloud cover, a slight increase in minimum temperature is expected, with Sunday’s readings likely to be between 20-22 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) indicates that the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 147 on Saturday morning, categorizing it as 'moderate.' The 24-hour average AQI recorded until 4 PM on Friday was 144. According to CPCB standards, an AQI of 0-50 is considered 'good,' 51-100 'satisfactory,' 101-200 'moderate,' 201-300 'poor,' 301-400 'very poor,' and 401-500 'severe.'
