Inauguration of Health Centers in Delhi

New Delhi, June 17: In a significant enhancement to the healthcare framework of Delhi, 33 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Health and Wellness Centers) and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras were inaugurated on Tuesday. This initiative, aimed at transforming the city's healthcare landscape, was led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with various ministers from the Delhi government and BJP Parliamentarians.

During the inauguration, CM Rekha Gupta remarked, "Today marks a special initiative inspired by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, as I inaugurate an Arogya Mandir (Health and Wellness Center) here. Across the city, we are simultaneously launching 33 Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras. I am proud to announce that our ministers, MPs, and MLAs are inaugurating these centers at various locations."

The newly established Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and will serve as comprehensive centers for various health services.

Each center will offer in-house testing for 14 types of diagnostics and provide access to an additional 79 tests through outsourcing. Furthermore, these centers will facilitate national vaccination programs.

In addition to medical testing and vaccinations, the centers will host yoga sessions every Monday and Friday, along with family planning services and pre-and post-natal care. Operating hours will be daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., staffed by a medical officer, a nurse, a multipurpose worker, and a sanitation worker.

Previously, Mohalla Clinics primarily offered doctor consultations, with most diagnostic tests outsourced and essential services like immunization not available. The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs aim to consolidate these vital services under one roof.

Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, after inaugurating an Arogya Mandir at a government school in Khajuri Khas, Karawal Nagar constituency, expressed, "The Aarogya Mandir is indeed a 'Temple of Health', and the name is aptly chosen. Today, we are making history in Delhi with the simultaneous inauguration of 33 Aarogya Mandirs across the city. Our objective is to establish 1,139 Aarogya Mandirs within the next three months. In my Karawal Nagar constituency, five locations have already been earmarked. We aim to set up at least two Aarogya Mandirs in every ward over the next three months, with work already in progress and at least one location identified in each ward."
