Delhi Set to Welcome New Lieutenant Governor Amid Potential Reshuffle

New Lieutenant Governor for Delhi on the Horizon
Delhi is likely to soon have a new Lieutenant Governor (LG) as the central government is reportedly considering a reshuffle of gubernatorial positions. Sources indicate that three candidates are being prominently considered for the role of LG in Delhi: Ajay Bhalla, Rajesh Khullar, and C.V. Anand Bose. Current LG V.K. Saxena may be reassigned to Jammu and Kashmir or West Bengal.
Close associates of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are reportedly considering Manoj Sinha, the current LG of Jammu and Kashmir, for a significant role within the party organization.
Potential Candidates for the Position
A BJP leader, speaking on the condition of anonymity, mentioned that Sinha is regarded as one of the top electoral strategists and a strict taskmaster, making him a strong candidate for a leadership position within the party. Sources suggest that Ajay Bhalla, currently the Governor of Manipur, is leading the race to replace Saxena, followed closely by former IAS officer Khullar. Bhalla's extensive experience in administrative roles is seen as a key factor in his candidacy.
Future Prospects for Bhalla
However, Bhalla's return to the national capital is contingent upon the formation of a government in Manipur. There are reports that the government may appoint a former IAS or IPS officer with experience in handling northeastern affairs as the Governor of Manipur. If Saxena is not sent to Jammu and Kashmir, he could also be a suitable candidate for the role of Governor in Manipur.
