Police Register FIR After Protest Violence

The Delhi Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals in connection with the violence, stone-pelting, and vandalism of police vehicles that occurred near Regal Cinema in Connaught Place during a protest. Sources revealed this information on Tuesday.

According to reports, during the protests on Monday in the outer circle of Connaught Place, demonstrators allegedly engaged in stone-pelting, caused damage to several police vehicles, and attacked law enforcement personnel.

Investigation Underway to Identify Perpetrators

Police sources indicated that efforts are ongoing to identify those involved in the violence using CCTV footage, video recordings, and other electronic evidence. This action follows clashes between protesters and security personnel that took place a day after the 'Chalo Parliament' march. Over 118 police officers sustained injuries during the altercations, and police vehicles were damaged.

Enhanced Security Measures Across the Capital

In response to the ongoing protests by the 'Cockroach Public Party' and farmer organizations, the police have heightened security across various parts of the national capital. Heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces has been observed in sensitive areas.

According to a source, security measures have been intensified in New Delhi, Central, North, South, Southwest, and Southeast districts, along with other sensitive regions. Multi-layered barricades have been established at strategic points, vehicle checks have been increased, and patrols have been intensified.

Additional forces have also been stationed around key government buildings, major intersections, and potential protest sites. A senior police official stated, 'The investigation into Monday's violence is ongoing, and legal action will be taken against those involved in vandalism, attacks on police personnel, and damage to public property.'
