New Delhi. The capital city of India, Delhi, witnesses various incidents daily. While gang wars, thefts, and assaults on women are common, there has been a noticeable rise in cases of young schoolgirls running away from home in recent years. The Delhi Police handles numerous such cases daily, often involving romantic relationships or teenage girls leaving home due to disagreements with their parents. In some instances, these minors have eloped with their drivers. Recently, the police solved a case involving a 16-year-old girl who had been missing for ten days.

The girl had fallen into bad company with a schoolmate, leading to troubling behavior at home that her parents could no longer tolerate. After a stern conversation with her parents, she took the opportunity to leave home. Her sudden disappearance left her family in shock.

Teenager's Troubling Behavior Leads to Disappearance
The girl's father reported her missing at the Budh Vihar police station in Rohini. The police were perplexed by how a 9th-grade student could vanish. Following the filing of the FIR on January 11, the case was handed over to the Crime Branch. Under the leadership of Inspector Manoj Dahiya, the team began their investigation, uncovering more information about the girl.

The Crime Branch collected details from the school, fellow students, and informants. After considerable effort, they located the girl in Rohini Sector-24. Investigations revealed that she had run away for the boy with whom she had been frequently communicating on her mobile phone. The police also spoke with the boy's parents before reuniting the girl with her family. Additionally, in another similar case, a 15-year-old girl who had gone missing from Mundka was safely recovered and returned to her family from New Delhi railway station after leaving home due to parental disagreements.
