New Delhi. The capital city of India, Delhi, witnesses various incidents daily. While the city often grapples with gang wars, thefts, and various crimes against women, a concerning trend has emerged in recent years: young schoolgirls are increasingly running away from home. The Delhi Police handle numerous such cases daily, often involving romantic relationships or teenage girls fleeing due to disagreements with their parents. In some instances, these minors have eloped with their drivers. Recently, the police solved a case involving a 16-year-old girl who had been missing for ten days.

The girl had fallen into bad company with a male student from her school. Her behavior at home became increasingly troubling, prompting her parents to confront her. She would spend hours on her phone after school, chatting with friends. Initially, her parents tried to reason with her, but she eventually took the opportunity to leave home, leaving her family in shock.

Teenager's Troubling Behavior Leads to Disappearance The girl's father reported her missing at the Budh Vihar police station in Rohini. The police were baffled by how a 9th-grade student could vanish without a trace. Following the filing of the missing person's report on January 11, the case was escalated to the crime branch. Under the leadership of Inspector Manoj Dahiya, the team began their investigation, uncovering more details about the girl’s whereabouts.

The crime branch collected information from her school, fellow students, and informants. After considerable effort, they located the girl in Rohini Sector-24. Investigations revealed that she had run away for the boy with whom she had been frequently communicating. The police also spoke with the boy's parents before reuniting the girl with her family. Additionally, in another similar case, a 15-year-old girl who had gone missing from Mundka was safely recovered and returned to her family after being found at New Delhi Railway Station.
