Rescue Operation Details

The Delhi Police have successfully rescued a 16-year-old girl who had been forced into prostitution. The circumstances surrounding her exploitation and the hardships she faced at such a young age are shocking. The minor, freed following a tip-off from the Association for Voluntary Action, revealed that she was coerced into this dark world a year ago, where she was expected to entertain 8 to 10 clients nightly.

Harsh Realities of Exploitation

The victim recounted that whenever she complained of pain, she was given painkillers before being sent to clients. For each encounter, she was promised 500 rupees, but she often received the money only sporadically and upon request. When she pleaded to be released, members of the trafficking ring threatened her with recorded videos, warning that they would be made public if she attempted to refuse or escape.

Betrayed by a Friend

The girl was lured into this situation by a friend who promised to introduce her to a man who would solve all her financial problems. She shared, 'My friend introduced me to a guy who showed me dreams of earning a lot of money. I didn’t realize the trap I was walking into until it was too late. When I tried to escape, they threatened me with the videos they had recorded.'

Family Background

The girl revealed that her mother passed away a year ago, and she lives with her father, who has a drinking problem. When asked if her father knew about her situation, she shook her head, stating, 'He has no idea. I told him I work at a call center with night shifts.' She explained that she would leave home every evening at five and return around five or six in the morning after servicing clients, with no days off.

Rescue Efforts

Manish Sharma, a senior director at the organization working for the protection of children's rights, explained how their team posed as clients to infiltrate the trafficking ring. It took them over a month to gain the gang's trust. After extensive negotiations, they made an online payment, but the girl quickly changed her location. Eventually, she directed them to Dwarka. The team immediately informed DCP Ankit Kumar Singh of the Western Dwarka range, who promptly mobilized his team for a raid.

Arrest and Investigation

Upon arrival, the police found empty liquor bottles, painkillers, and medications for treating infections. One suspect, identified as Ibrahim, was arrested, but he claimed he was not acting alone and that a larger gang was involved.
