FIR Filed Against AAP Leaders

The Delhi Police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjeev Jha, and Adil Ahmed Khan. This action follows allegations that they hurt religious sentiments through social media content. The complaint centers around a satirical video shared by the leaders, depicting a political play performed in Connaught Place.

In the controversial video, individuals dressed as Santa Claus are shown participating in protests and ultimately fainting due to poor air quality. The complaint asserts that the AAP leaders posted this video on their official social media accounts on December 17 and 18, 2025, showcasing the public performance.

The video is said to portray the revered religious and cultural symbol of Santa Claus in a derogatory and mocking manner, using these religious figures merely as tools for political messaging, where they appear to be 'fainting' and 'falling' on the street.

Additionally, the video features a scene where Santa Claus is shown receiving fake CPR, which the complaint argues disrespects the sanctity of Saint Nicholas and the Christmas festival. The complaint further states that this mockery of Santa Claus, including the fake CPR, constitutes an affront to the sacredness of the Christmas celebration.

The complaint concludes by stating, "The accused have deliberately and maliciously acted to hurt religious sentiments, which falls under Section 299 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Using a religious symbol during the final days of the arrival to create a 'political ruckus' clearly indicates an intention to insult Christianity."
