Delhi Police Clarifies on Minor's Remarks Against PM Modi During Protest

Police Statement on Minor's Comments

A significant statement has emerged from the Delhi police regarding a minor girl who used offensive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest by the 'Cockroach People Party' (CJP) at Jantar Mantar. Sources from the Delhi police confirmed on Monday that no regular FIR has been filed against the girl as of now. Given her age, decisions regarding further legal actions and the filing of an FIR are still pending. Sources added that a 'zero FIR' was sent by the Noida police last week, but it has not yet been converted into a regular FIR in Delhi, making it impossible to withdraw at this stage.

PM Modi's Response to the Incident

This incident unfolded after Prime Minister Modi released a video message on Instagram on Friday, stating that he forgives the students who hurled abuses at him during the protest. He urged society to guide the youth rather than punish them. Modi expressed, "The derogatory remarks made against me and my late mother were quite distressing. However, young people should be given a chance to learn from their mistakes."

Minor's Apology

Subsequently, the girl publicly apologized, explaining that she is only 15 years old and was influenced by those around her who were chanting derogatory slogans against the Prime Minister.

Mother's Gratitude

Earlier, the girl's mother expressed that the Prime Minister's decision to forgive her daughter has given her a 'new lease on life.' Speaking to the media, she conveyed her gratitude that Modi chose forgiveness over revenge despite the insults directed at him. She stated, "I have a request for Prime Minister Modi. We are nothing in front of him; he is the 'king' of this country. By forgiving a child who used such offensive language against him, he has truly done a noble deed. I thank him from the bottom of my heart. Today is my daughter's birthday, and she received the greatest gift from Prime Minister Modi. He has given her a 'new life.' Today feels like a rebirth for my daughter."

Zero FIR Filed Against Protester

On July 23, a zero FIR was registered against a protester for allegedly making derogatory remarks during the demonstration. According to the complaint, the accused used offensive language against the Prime Minister, which allegedly undermined the dignity of a constitutional position. The complaint also claimed that these comments aimed to incite hatred and disturb public peace. The police registered the case under sections 352, 353(1), and 356(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The zero FIR has since been forwarded to the Parliament Street police station in Delhi, which will now investigate the matter and proceed with further legal actions.
