Delhi Police Arrests 44 Individuals in Major Crime Crackdown

Significant Police Operation in Delhi

In a significant operation named 'Operation Prahar', the police in North-West Delhi apprehended 44 individuals across 34 cases within a span of 72 hours. This initiative aimed to combat street crimes and organized criminal activities. During the operation, three notorious criminals were captured, five missing persons were safely located, and various items linked to crime were seized, including weapons, stolen vehicles, and illegal liquor.

Targeting Various Criminal Activities

According to a press release from the Delhi police, this operation targeted a range of offenses such as theft, robbery, snatching, vehicle theft, gambling, and cyber fraud across several police stations in the district. A notable arrest was made by the Ashok Vihar police, who detained a habitual offender named Chandan alias Rahul, previously involved in 31 cases. The police successfully recovered all stolen gold and silver jewelry from him.

Swift Action by Police Teams

Additionally, the Subhash Place police managed to arrest three robbers within eight hours of a crime, seizing a country-made pistol, live cartridges, stolen cash, and a stolen scooter. Separate operations by the Mukherjee Nagar and Adarsh Nagar police teams led to the capture of two active snatchers. One suspect, Rashid, was linked to ten snatching incidents across various districts and had 41 prior criminal cases against him.

Dismantling an Inter-State Theft Gang

The Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) uncovered an inter-state gang involved in vehicle theft, arresting two individuals, including the habitual criminal Puru Chhaparia, who had 15 armed robbery cases registered against him. The police recovered a stolen car with fake number plates and a stolen scooter during the operation, which resulted in minor injuries to one officer. The Maurya Enclave police also arrested another car thief, Sonu alias Hakku, with two stolen scooters.
