Delhi Police Approves Congress Rally on November 1 with Conditions
Delhi Police Clarifies Rally Permission
In New Delhi, the police have confirmed that they have no objections to the Congress rally scheduled for November 1 at Ramleela Maidan. The event is permitted to take place from 10 AM to 5 PM, subject to certain conditions.
This clarification comes in response to allegations from the Congress party, which claimed that they were denied permission for a prior event leading up to the rally. This event was intended for members of the opposition alliance, INDIA, to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
According to an official statement from the Delhi Police, they are considering the request for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the booking of Ramleela Maidan from October 25 to November 3. The police have agreed to the rally on November 1, provided that prior approval is obtained from the authority that owns the venue.
The police have also set several conditions for the rally organizers. These include adhering to all laws and regulations related to gatherings, maintaining discipline among participants, and taking necessary measures to prevent any violent or disruptive activities. The organizers must ensure that the event concludes by 5 PM on November 1.
Furthermore, the police have made it clear that participants will not be allowed to stay overnight at Ramleela Maidan under any circumstances before or after the rally. Organizers must ensure that the demonstration remains peaceful and that no individual engages in unruly or extremist behavior. It is also their responsibility to cooperate fully with law enforcement during the event.
The Delhi Police has warned that any violation of the stipulated conditions or assurances given by the organizers could lead to legal action. Additionally, participants will not be permitted to march to any location other than Ramleela Maidan. Following this clarification from the police, the situation regarding the Congress rally on November 1 has been made clear, and the event must now proceed according to the established time and conditions.
