Significant Police Operation in Delhi

On Wednesday night, the Delhi Police made a significant breakthrough in their efforts to reduce crime in the capital. Following a confrontation, they apprehended two notorious sharpshooters linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. According to police reports, the encounter began when a special cell team attempted to surround the shooters based on a tip-off. Realizing they were cornered, the suspects opened fire on the police, who retaliated, resulting in one shooter sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg. The injured shooter was promptly transported to a hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable. Additionally, the police successfully captured a second shooter, identified as a minor.

Details of the Encounter

The Delhi Police stated that the encounter occurred late at night between the North District Anti-Narcotics team and a group of criminals, leading to the arrest of the two sharpshooters associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The police confirmed that the suspects were involved in recent shooting incidents in West Vihar and West Vinod Nagar. During the encounter, gunfire erupted from both sides, injuring one criminal in the leg. A police constable was also shot but fortunately sustained no injuries due to his bulletproof vest. Acting on a tip-off, the police had set up a trap at Hiranki Mor, where they seized two pistols, live cartridges, and a scooter from the suspects, identified as Deepak and a minor.

Shooting Incidents Linked to the Gang

Earlier on Monday, the shooters had opened fire at a gym in West Vihar, West Delhi, and outside a businessman’s residence in East Delhi's West Vinod Nagar. These incidents occurred within an hour and were reportedly orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Around 11 PM on Monday, two individuals on motorcycles fired shots into the air outside RK Fitness on the Outer Ring Road in West Vihar.

No Injuries Reported from the Shooting

The police confirmed that there were no injuries resulting from the shooting. However, a social media post claiming responsibility for the shooting was made by someone associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Randeep Malik asserted that he had collaborated with Anil Pandit, who allegedly resides in the United States. The post explicitly named the gym and its owner, Rohit Khatri, issuing threats that if ignored, he could meet the same fate as gangster-turned-businessman Nadir Shah, who was shot outside a gym in Greater Kailash-I in September 2024.

Gang's Allegiance and Threats

The gang also mentioned several other gangs, including Jitender Gogi, Hashim Baba, and Kala Rana, while expressing their loyalty to Lawrence Bishnoi.
