Delhi on High Alert: Security Heightened Amid Terror Threats

Increased Security Measures in the Capital

New Delhi: The capital city is currently under heightened security measures due to intelligence reports suggesting a potential terror threat. As a result, the Delhi Police, along with various security agencies, have ramped up surveillance in numerous sensitive areas, as reported on Saturday.

Security protocols have been tightened at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters located on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Marg, as well as at adjacent government facilities. This includes the deployment of additional armed personnel, barricades, and thorough vehicle inspections.

Sources indicate that alerts have been issued regarding possible attacks targeting key offices and crowded locations in central Delhi, which may involve suicide bombings, vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (IEDs), shootings, and coordinated assaults.

Anti-sabotage inspections are being conducted at significant government sites, political offices, marketplaces, transport hubs, and other densely populated areas throughout the city.

Bomb disposal units, sniffer dog teams, and quick response squads, including the Delhi Fire Service, have been placed on high alert.

Authorities have instructed police to keep a close watch on suspicious activities, unattended items, and vehicles parked in sensitive areas.

Security measures have also been enhanced in neighborhoods deemed vulnerable from a law-and-order standpoint, with local police conducting random checks and verification operations.

All district units have been advised to stay vigilant and maintain close collaboration with intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces.

Senior officials are actively monitoring the situation and assessing security measures across the city.
