Controversy Erupts Over Minister's Actions

New Delhi: A controversy has emerged involving Delhi's PWD Minister Parvesh Verma after a video surfaced on social media, allegedly showing him slapping an individual who was filming a road inspection in Tilak Nagar. The incident drew attention when AAP MLA Jarnail Singh, present at the scene, expressed concerns about the quality of the newly laid road by physically pulling up parts of the surface.

While the young man was recording the event, Verma reportedly slapped him, an act that was captured in a video shared by Singh. This incident has led to calls from AAP leaders for Verma's arrest, with party chief Arvind Kejriwal claiming that the minister lost his temper when residents questioned the road's quality.

In response to the accusations, Verma stated that the video shared by the Aam Aadmi Party lacked context and accused Singh of soliciting a kickback from the road contractor. He explained that Singh had previously complained about the road's construction, and upon visiting the site, he invited the AAP MLA to join him.

Verma further alleged that Singh summoned AAP supporters to the location, where they verbally attacked him and his family, prompting his reaction, which he described as a natural response. Kejriwal has since shared the video on X and announced plans to visit Tilak Nagar on Monday to assess the road.
