Delhi Lakshmi Scheme Sees Over 145,000 Registrations

Significant Response to Delhi Lakshmi Scheme

New Delhi, August 2 – The 'Delhi Lakshmi Scheme' has garnered registrations from more than 145,000 women to date. This announcement was made by the government just a day after the scheme's launch. According to an official statement, by 10 PM on Sunday, the portal recorded a total of 147,215 registrations, with 10,286 applications submitted for final approval.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the online portal for this initiative. Under the scheme, eligible women will receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 each month. The Delhi government has allocated a budget of ₹5,100 crores for this program.

The Delhi Cabinet, led by Rekha Gupta, approved the scheme earlier this week. This initiative was one of the key promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the Delhi Assembly elections. According to the guidelines, women aged between 21 and 60 years, whose families have an annual income of up to ₹2.5 lakhs, can register for this scheme.
