Delhi High Court Issues Strong Warning to Honey Singh and Badshah Over Controversial Song
Court's Ruling on 'Mafia Mundir Volume 1'
The Delhi High Court has reprimanded singers Honey Singh and Badshah regarding their song 'Mafia Mundir Volume 1'. The court described the track as so vulgar and offensive that it could not even be mentioned in its order. It has mandated the immediate removal of the song and all its versions from digital platforms.
Following previous controversies surrounding Badshah's 'Tattiri' and the song 'Sarke Chunar Teri' featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, the court has now taken a firm stance on this 26-year-old track. The judges expressed that the song is deeply disturbing and demeaning, particularly towards women, and stated that no civilized society should allow such content on digital platforms.
In its ruling, the Delhi High Court emphasized that the song is grossly indecent and humiliating to women, and it cannot be tolerated in any respectable society.
This song, released in 2000, had previously sparked controversy, but at that time, Badshah clarified that he did not write the lyrics. However, Honey Singh later admitted at an event that he was indeed the songwriter.
What Led to the Split of the Hip-Hop Group 'Mafia Mundir'?
Honey Singh performed 'Volume 1' during the early days of the hip-hop group 'Mafia Mundir', which eventually disbanded. The group included artists like Raftaar, Badshah, Manj Musik, Lil Golu, and The Star. They later decided to release solo tracks.
Previously, Honey Singh faced backlash for comments made during a concert regarding Delhi's winter and women, but he later apologized via social media. This is not the first time he has faced allegations of indecency; his comeback songs 'Maniac' and 'Main Hoon Womanizer' have also stirred controversy.
Meanwhile, Badshah's song 'Tattiri' was recently removed from all social media platforms due to the use of derogatory language towards women. The Haryana Women's Commission and the National Women's Commission issued summons to the singer, but he failed to appear before them. Badshah has publicly apologized for the song.
