Expansion of Air Quality Monitoring in Delhi

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the Delhi government plans to establish air quality monitoring stations at six additional locations, including the campuses of JNU and IGNOU. This initiative aims to facilitate the implementation of data-driven pollution control measures.


Currently, there are 40 operational monitoring stations across Delhi. The Chief Minister stated that, in accordance with the directives from the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM), the government will set up these new stations.


The new monitoring stations will be located at the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Earth Centre, the Commonwealth Games Centre, and NSUT (West Campus), thereby strengthening the air quality monitoring network in Delhi.
