Enhancing Healthcare in Delhi

The Delhi government has taken significant steps to bolster the healthcare system in the national capital by appointing over 1,300 new nursing officials and launching the Ayushman Bharat registration van on Sunday.

This event was attended by prominent figures including BJP President J.P. Nadda, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Health Minister Pankaj Singh, and other senior officials.

During her address, Chief Minister Gupta sharply criticized the previous administration, accusing it of neglecting the city’s healthcare infrastructure.

She highlighted that in the past, the healthcare services in Delhi were in such dire straits that there were only 0.42 hospital beds available for every 1,000 residents. Furthermore, among 38 hospitals, there were merely six MRI machines and 12 CT scan machines. Patients often had to leave empty-handed due to a shortage of medications.

Gupta also alleged widespread corruption within the Mohalla Clinic initiative, claiming that there were irregularities in the procurement of medicines and the construction of hospitals. She noted that while 22 hospitals were announced, they were never completed.

Health Minister Pankaj Singh addressed the newly appointed staff, emphasizing their crucial role in strengthening the city’s healthcare system. He stated that these nurses and health workers would form the backbone of a new and robust healthcare framework in the capital.

BJP President J.P. Nadda congratulated the newly appointed officials, describing the occasion as a historic moment. He remarked that after 15 years, these nursing officials finally have job security, attributing this achievement not just to a government order but to the trust placed in the BJP by the people of Delhi.
