Delhi Government Marks 100 Days Under BJP Leadership with Key Initiatives
Delhi Government Celebrates First 100 Days
On Saturday, May 31, the Delhi government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), completed its first 100 days in office. To commemorate this milestone, the government released a 'workbook' highlighting significant welfare initiatives launched during Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's tenure. Rekha Gupta took the oath of office on February 20, 2025, after the BJP secured 48 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections, marking a return to power in the national capital after 27 years, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged as the opposition with 22 seats.
Rekha Gupta's Remarks on National Security
During a ceremony held to celebrate this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her sorrow over individuals who question the Indian Armed Forces while collaborating with the nation's adversaries. She praised Operation Sindoor for enhancing the respect for women and extended her gratitude to Prime Minister Modi. Gupta emphasized that all women salute the armed forces for their efforts in dismantling terrorist bases in enemy territory.
Public Support and Political Aspirations
Rekha Gupta further claimed that when the movement began at Ramleela Maidan, it attracted thousands of participants, including herself. Many joined in the hope of fostering positive change in Delhi and the country. She criticized those who professed to be uninterested in power but became overly ambitious, losing sight of anything beyond their political aspirations. Gupta asserted that her cabinet, along with all elected representatives, is actively engaged with the public on the streets.
Commitment to Environmental Issues
The Chief Minister lamented that previous administrations had not taken the cleaning of the Yamuna River seriously, nor had they addressed the issues of garbage mounds and environmental cleanliness. She stated that there was neither intent nor policy to clean the Yamuna. Although the central government allocated millions for this purpose, Gupta criticized the lack of vision. She assured that her government is dedicated to cleaning the Yamuna River.
