Launch of the Delhi Laxmi Scheme Portal
The Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, is set to officially launch the portal for the ‘Delhi Laxmi Scheme’ on Saturday, marking the commencement of the application process for this initiative. According to a statement from the Chief Minister's office on Friday, the launch event will take place at 11 AM at the District Magistrate (DM) office located in Geeta Colony.
Application Process for Eligible Women
During the event, the Chief Minister will personally register a few eligible women, thereby initiating the application process. Following this, applications from other eligible women will also be accepted through the portal. The Chief Minister emphasized that the Delhi government aims to ensure timely verification of all eligible applications, with the first installment expected to be released in time for Raksha Bandhan.
Financial Support for Women
Gupta stated that the Delhi government has fulfilled its significant promise to women, and the ‘Delhi Laxmi Scheme’ is designed to enhance women's dignity, economic security, and self-reliance. Under this scheme, eligible women will receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month. The budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 has allocated ₹5,110 crores for this initiative, which is expected to benefit over 1.7 million women.
