Weather Conditions in the National Capital

On Thursday morning, the weather in the national capital was notably warm, with a recorded minimum temperature of 30.7 degrees Celsius, which is 2.7 degrees above the seasonal average, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).


At 8:30 AM, the relative humidity stood at 67 percent.


According to the IMD, the maximum temperature for the day is expected to reach 44 degrees Celsius, and there is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain in the capital on Friday. The IMD has issued a red alert for June 12 and 13, advising residents to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight, and refrain from going outside during the afternoon hours.


On Wednesday, the heat index in Delhi soared to 51.9 degrees Celsius, reflecting the combined effects of temperature and humidity. Temperatures across various weather stations ranged from 40.9 to 45.0 degrees Celsius.


As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi at 9 AM on Thursday was recorded at 186, categorizing it as moderate. According to CPCB data, AQI values are classified as follows: 0-50 is 'good', 51-100 is 'satisfactory', 101-200 is 'moderate', 201-300 is 'poor', 301-400 is 'very poor', and 401-500 is 'severe'.
