Delhi Chief Minister Meets Sanju Samson

On Thursday, Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met with cricketer Sanju Samson to commend him on his new role as the Brand Ambassador for Jan Kaushal Kendra. She emphasized his connection to the capital and his potential to motivate the youth of the city.


Sanju Samson's New Role

In a post shared on X, CM Gupta expressed her excitement about Sanju Samson's appointment as the Brand Ambassador for Jan Kaushal Kendra located in Moti Nagar. She stated that his presence would encourage young people in Delhi to pursue skills and self-reliance. Gupta noted, "I had the pleasure of meeting Bharat's star cricketer and youth icon, Shri Sanju Samson, and congratulated him on joining Team Delhi! Sanju has a unique bond with Delhi, where he spent his formative years and began his cricket career. As the Brand Ambassador, he will inspire the youth towards skills and opportunities." The meeting was also attended by MLA Harish Khurana and senior members from the Trinity Foundation and IACT Education.


Samson Reaches T20 Milestone

Recently, Sanju Samson achieved a significant milestone by scoring 9,000 runs in T20 cricket during the third and final T20I against Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium. He accomplished this feat while scoring 50 runs in his innings, marking his second consecutive T20I half-century. Samson reached this landmark in just 34 balls before being dismissed by Azmatullah Omarzai in the 14th over. His innings included two fours and four sixes.


Currently, he has accumulated a total of 9,027 runs across 351 T20 matches, which includes eight centuries and 57 half-centuries. In T20 Internationals, he has scored 1,549 runs in 69 matches, maintaining an average of 28 and a strike rate of 158, with three centuries and seven fifties. His remarkable achievement coincided with a record-breaking opening partnership with Abhishek Sharma, who scored an impressive 108 runs off just 34 balls, leading India to a total of 221/7. India then bowled out Afghanistan for 94, securing a 127-run victory and clinching the series 3-0.
