Foundation Laid for New Foot Overbridge
On Thursday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of Delhi inaugurated the foundation for a new foot overbridge at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Mandi Market. The Chief Minister emphasized that the construction will adhere strictly to the timeline, aiming to complete the project by the end of the year. Speaking to the media, Gupta noted that the residents had repeatedly requested this facility from the previous administration. She stated, 'In our short time in office, we are fulfilling this demand of the people... This bridge will be ready in just six months.'
Women-Centric Initiatives Launched
Earlier, on Monday, CM Rekha Gupta launched several women-focused initiatives during the Empowered Women, Prosperous Delhi program. These included a free LPG cylinder scheme for ration card holders and the Delhi Lakhpati Beti scheme. Highlighting education, mobility, and domestic empowerment, she announced that funds for 30,000 girls under the Ladli-Ladli scheme have been distributed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
New Electric Double-Decker Bus Introduced
In February, CM Rekha Gupta flagged off a modern electric double-decker bus in the national capital. This initiative aims to enhance the tourism sector and provide visitors with a unique travel experience. According to the Chief Minister, the bus will operate on a designated tourism circuit covering Delhi's cultural, historical, and heritage sites, starting from the Martyrs' Memorial and including locations like the Prime Minister's Museum.
Commitment to Tourism Development
Gupta mentioned that a new tourism route is being developed to allow tourists to visit sites like the Prime Minister's Museum. Advance bookings for these buses will be available, ensuring a delightful experience for visitors. She congratulated the tourism department and reiterated the government's commitment to the capital's development, stating, 'Every day, the Delhi government brings a new gift, a new offering for the city. A year has passed, and there is still much to accomplish. We will continue to move towards a developed Delhi.'
