Inauguration of Welfare Camps in Delhi

On Thursday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a 'Welfare Camp' at the MCD Community Hall in the Shalimar Bagh assembly area. This initiative marks a significant effort by her administration to connect with the public. The Chief Minister announced that these camps will be set up at 42 locations across the national capital. This initiative celebrates two notable achievements: the completion of 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and one year of the current Delhi government. Gupta informed reporters that these welfare camps are organized to ensure that residents of Delhi can access all the schemes they are eligible for, whether they are state or central government programs.


Details of the Welfare Camps

The 'Welfare Camps' will run for three days, from June 18 to June 20. The administration has urged citizens to bring necessary documents to these centers to directly benefit from the assistance provided. Gupta emphasized that these camps are designed to reach out to the public and offer direct support. Highlighting the government's development agenda, she stressed the importance of the 'Triple Engine' governance model.


Commitment to Development

Gupta further stated that under PM Modi's leadership, the 'Triple Engine' government is fully committed to serving the people and transforming Delhi into a developed city while progressing towards a developed India. Earlier on Monday, as part of a separate initiative, Gupta announced a large-scale cleaning campaign along the Yamuna at 28 ghats in the capital. Thousands participated in this effort aimed at cleaning the river and improving the surrounding environment.


Community Involvement in Cleanliness Drive

Discussing the campaign, Gupta noted that the cleanliness drive commenced on Sunday at the 28 ghats of the Yamuna, with thousands joining in. She observed participation from individuals of all ages, from children to the elderly. Regarding the waste collected, Gupta mentioned finding plastic bags, religious offerings, and broken idols. She emphasized the need for regular cleanliness drives. The Chief Minister also stated that waste management strategies would be determined based on the types of waste found along the riverbanks.
