Match Overview
In the seventh match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 season, the Delhi Capitals, captained by Jemimah Rodrigues, won the toss and chose to field first against the UP Warriorz on Wednesday.

Meg Lanning Reflects on Recent Loss
Following their defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru on January 12, UP Warriorz captain Meg Lanning acknowledged that her team was outperformed by their rivals.
"We would have preferred to start with a couple of wins, but RCB played exceptionally well and kept us under pressure throughout the match. It wasn't our best performance, but the quick succession of games allows us to move on swiftly. We need to improve in several areas, especially at the top of the order, including myself. We faced too many dot balls early on. Credit to RCB for their excellent bowling, which set the tone for the game," Lanning stated after the match.
"Shikha is one of the top bowlers in this league, and she has a variety of techniques. Unfortunately, her performance didn't meet expectations tonight. Facing a player like Harris is challenging once she finds her rhythm; she can hit all areas of the ground with power. Today, she was in form, and we couldn't contain her," she added.
