Delhi Capitals Expands to Saudi Arabia

The Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy has broadened its international reach by inaugurating its first academy in the Gulf region, specifically in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This expansion signifies a significant advancement in the franchise's global academy network and aligns with its mission to promote cricket inclusivity worldwide.


Partnership with JSC Sports

In collaboration with JSC Sports, the first international cricket academy in Jeddah, the Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy aims to train over 50 young athletes aged between five and 17. The academy focuses on four developmental categories, providing long-term growth opportunities for budding cricketers.


Structured Coaching and Player Development

This partnership will introduce Delhi Capitals' structured coaching curriculum and player development philosophy at the Jeddah facility. Young players will benefit from ICC-certified coaches, high-performance training amenities, specialized coaching tools, and performance monitoring systems. Additionally, they will have access to exchange programs, camps, and broader opportunities within the Delhi Capitals Academy framework, preparing them for international competition.


Supporting Cricket Growth in Saudi Arabia

This expansion coincides with the rising popularity of cricket in Saudi Arabia, bolstered by the country's Vision 2030 initiative. Recent investments in sports have opened new avenues for cricket's growth alongside other emerging sports. The partnership aims to enhance grassroots development and establish clearer pathways for aspiring cricketers in the region.

JSC Sports' Role in Local Development

As the first international cricket academy in Jeddah, JSC Sports has significantly contributed to the local cricket landscape, with around ten of its trainees representing Saudi Arabia in various national age-group categories. The academy's girls' team recently won the championship at the Saudi National Games 2024, and it has collaborated with the Saudi Cricket Federation to host selection trials for the Saudi Men's National Team.


A Growing Global Academy Network

With the establishment of the Jeddah academy, the Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy now boasts 13 centers across five countries, including seven in India and six international academies in the UK, Canada, the USA, and Saudi Arabia. This expanding network fosters the exchange of coaching expertise, player development programs, and global exposure, further solidifying Delhi Capitals' presence in key cricket markets.
