Delhi Approves Major Elevated Corridor to Alleviate Traffic Congestion
New Infrastructure Project to Ease Traffic in Delhi
In a significant move to enhance traffic management and reduce congestion in Delhi, the government has greenlit a major infrastructure initiative. An elevated corridor spanning 55 kilometers will be constructed along the crucial Delhi Ring Road, with an estimated budget of around ₹15,000 crores.
According to government sources, this elevated corridor is expected to play a vital role in alleviating traffic pressure on one of Delhi's busiest routes. Millions of vehicles traverse the Ring Road daily, leading to severe traffic jams in various areas. The new corridor will redirect traffic above, significantly easing the burden on the roads below.
The project will incorporate modern engineering techniques and is planned to be executed in phases. Officials indicate that once completed, travel times in Delhi will be considerably reduced, and there may also be a decrease in pollution levels, as vehicles will spend less time stuck in traffic.
Experts believe that this corridor could represent a transformative change in the capital's transportation system. It is anticipated to not only provide relief to local commuters but also enhance connectivity across Delhi-NCR.
While the construction of such a large-scale project may face time constraints and challenges, the government asserts that efforts will be made to expedite its completion within the established timeline.
All eyes are now on this project, as its completion could dramatically alter the traffic landscape on Delhi's roads.
