Delay in Release of Vijay's Anticipated Film 'Jana Nayakan'
Vijay's Fans Face Extended Wait for 'Jana Nayakan'
Fans of actor Vijay will have to wait longer for the release of his highly anticipated film, 'Jana Nayakan.' The release has been postponed due to a recent ruling by the Madras High Court, which placed an interim stay on the film's certification following an appeal from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The court has scheduled a detailed hearing for January 21.
Earlier that day, a single judge had directed the issuance of a UA 16+ certificate for the film, prompting the CBFC to file an immediate appeal. According to reports, the division bench noted that the central government had not been given adequate time to respond, and there was an artificial urgency surrounding the film's release without a final certificate.
The court also remarked that producers cannot pressure the judiciary by setting a release date. The controversy surrounding the film stems from a complaint alleging that certain scenes could hurt religious sentiments. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film features Vijay alongside Mamita Baiju, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol in significant roles.
Initially slated for release on January 9 during the Pongal festival, this film is considered Vijay's last before entering politics. However, fans will now have to await a new release date, leading to increased anticipation and discussions among audiences.
