Itanagar, Dec 8: On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated 32 crucial infrastructure projects of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Arunachal Pradesh through a virtual event.
These projects are part of a larger initiative that includes 125 infrastructure developments across various states, which Singh launched from a ceremony in Ladakh. The 44 Border Roads Task Force organized a local event in Aalo, located in the West Siang district, to mark the occasion.
State Law and Justice Minister Kento Jini expressed optimism that these initiatives will enhance support for troops stationed along the India-China border in the Shi Yomi and Upper Siang districts. He emphasized that the projects will ensure seamless connectivity for both military personnel and local residents, thereby boosting operational readiness and facilitating faster movement in the area.
Among the notable projects executed by Project Brahmank are the 35-meter Shene Nallah bridge on the Tato-Mechukha Road in Shi Yomi district, along with several other bridges on the Ditte Dimme-Migging Road and the Tuting-Bona Road in Upper Siang district.
The remaining projects have been carried out by Project Vartak, Project Arunank, and Project Udayak, which include road construction and a helipad project.
In addition to Arunachal Pradesh, the 125 projects span the Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the states of Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Mizoram. These developments consist of 28 roads, 93 bridges, and four miscellaneous works, all completed at a total expenditure of Rs 5,000 crore.
