Gruesome Discovery in Ludhiana

In a chilling incident reminiscent of the Meerut drum murder case, authorities in Ludhiana uncovered a decaying body concealed within a plastic bag inside a blue drum. The grim find was made after local residents reported a strong, unpleasant odor, prompting police to conduct a search in the vicinity.

Initial Findings and Suspicions

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim may have been a migrant worker, as indicated by the features observed by the police. Gangandeep Kaur, the officer in charge of the investigation, noted that the body was too decomposed to ascertain any injuries. She stated, "Currently, there are no visible external injuries. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death." Authorities suspect that the murder was premeditated, and they are looking into whether the drum was specifically purchased for this purpose.

Ongoing Investigation Efforts

Reports indicate that investigators have identified 42 drum manufacturing facilities in Ludhiana. The drum containing the body appears to be new, raising suspicions of a planned murder. Police sources mentioned, "There is a belief that the drum was acquired shortly before the crime occurred."

CCTV Analysis Underway

Law enforcement is also reviewing CCTV footage from a five-kilometer radius, focusing on key areas such as bus stations, railway terminals, and industrial zones. They are scrutinizing several suspicious vehicle registrations to track down those responsible for discarding the drum.
