Alarming Incident in Hardoi

Deceptive Marriage Proposal Leads to Legal Action in Hardoi

In today's world, placing blind trust in anyone can lead to unfortunate consequences. A recent incident from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, highlights this reality, where a brother-in-law allegedly deceived his widowed sister-in-law with false promises of marriage. The police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused.

The incident took place in a village under the jurisdiction of the Tadiyawan police station. Approximately six months ago, the woman's husband passed away, leaving her a widow. Following this, her brother-in-law began to grow closer to her, assuring her, "Don't worry, sister-in-law, I will marry you and love you just like your husband did." In her vulnerable state, the widow fell for his words and placed her trust in him.

Repeated Intimacy

The brother-in-law then initiated a physical relationship with her, and they engaged in intimate relations multiple times. However, after a while, he lost interest. When the widow began to suspect his intentions and pressed him about marriage, he initially avoided the topic. Eventually, he confessed, "I am in love with someone else. Please leave me alone." This revelation shattered the widow, who felt betrayed after losing her husband and now facing deceit from her brother-in-law.

Filing a Complaint

Despite her attempts to reason with him, the brother-in-law remained obstinate. Frustrated, the widow approached the Tadiyawan police station to file a complaint. She detailed how he had misled her into a physical relationship under the pretense of marriage, only to now express intentions of marrying another woman. The police have registered a case against the brother-in-law, and an investigation is underway, with further actions to be determined based on the findings.
