Court Delivers Harsh Sentence for Family Slaying

In a significant ruling, the Additional Sessions Judge Parmeshwar Prasad in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, has sentenced a man to death for the brutal murder of his wife and three children using a sharp weapon. Additionally, the court has imposed a fine of two lakh rupees on the convict. On Thursday, the district government advocate (criminal) G.P. Yadav and additional district government advocate Sanjeev Kumar Singh shared details of the verdict.

The case dates back to August 26, 2021, when Ramjeet Kushwaha filed a complaint at the Kasya police station. In his statement, he revealed that he had married Jitendra Kushwaha from Gurmiya Gopal Tola, with whom he had three children: Akash (8), Vikas (6), and Rinku (4).

Ramjeet accused Jitendra of murdering all four family members by slitting their throats with a sharp object around 2 PM on that fateful day. Upon receiving the report, the Kasya police registered a murder case, recovered the murder weapon—a vegetable cutting knife—and arrested the husband, sending him to jail. The investigating officer from the Kasya police station completed the inquiry and filed charges against the accused.

During the trial, twelve witnesses were presented. On Thursday, the court found Jitendra Kushwaha guilty and sentenced him to death. He has been remanded to police custody.
