DDCA Commends Hosting Experience, Acknowledges Jay Shah's Vision
Following India's impressive 3-0 victory over Afghanistan in the T20I series, Shyam Sunder, Director of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), expressed that hosting the matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was a remarkable experience. He noted that both the Afghanistan Cricket Board and its players were pleased with the facilities and the pitch. The enthusiastic Delhi crowd also showed appreciation for the outstanding performances from both teams. Sunder attributed the successful promotion of Afghan cricket and other associate nations to the vision of ICC chairman Jay Shah, stating that these efforts are now yielding positive results. "This was our first time hosting a match at our stadium, and it was truly rewarding. We aimed to provide top-notch facilities, and the Afghanistan team was very complimentary, especially about our pitch. The Delhi audience was supportive, cheering for both teams without bias. The atmosphere was electric. Jay Shah's initiative to uplift Afghan cricket has been commendable, and we are now witnessing the benefits of that initiative," Sunder remarked.
