He scored a double century, becoming the first player from Vidarbha to achieve this feat in the tournament's history. Malewar accomplished this milestone during his debut match in the Duleep Trophy, where he played a remarkable innings of 203 runs against the Central Zone before retiring out. This performance also allowed him to surpass the 1000-run milestone in first-class cricket, achieving this in just 16 innings.


Who is Danish Malewar?

Since making his first-class debut at the end of 2024, Malewar has been rapidly rising through the ranks. In his inaugural Ranji season, he amassed 783 runs, including a crucial 153-run innings in the final against Kerala, which helped Vidarbha secure their third Ranji Trophy title. He finished that season as the third-highest run-scorer for Vidarbha, following Yash Rathod and Karun Nair. Now, he has also become the first centurion for Vidarbha in the history of the Duleep Trophy.

He scored a fighting 79 runs in the semi-final against Mumbai and continued his excellent form in the final against Kerala.
