Police Action Against Unauthorized Mining

In a decisive move to combat illegal mining, the Damtal Police Station team from the Nurpur Police District executed a prompt operation today.


Details of the Incident

On August 10, 2026, authorities at Damtal Police were alerted about unauthorized mining activities occurring on the premises of the Thakur Ram Gopal Temple located in the Chakki region. Responding swiftly, the police arrived at the scene and discovered a Poklane machine along with two tipper trucks involved in the excavation and loading of mining materials.


In response to the situation, FIR No. 131/2026 was filed at Damtal Police Station against unknown individuals under the following provisions:



  • BNSS Sections 303(2) & 3(5)

  • Mines & Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, Section 21


The investigation is currently ongoing.
