The Tibetan community in Dalhousie marked the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama with vibrant celebrations, which included prayers and the cutting of a ceremonial cake.


A special event was held for this occasion, featuring former MLA and Education Minister Mrs. Asha Kumari as the Chief Guest. SDM Dalhousie Anil Bhardwaj served as the Guest of Honour, while Municipal Council President Vandana Chaddha, Vice President Reena Jaryal, Dr. Captain G.S. Dhillon (Chairman of Dalhousie Public School), Sudhir Dhawan (Chairman of Hilltop School), and Tehsildar Ramesh Chauhan were among the Special Guests. Municipal councillors Tilak Raj, Paramjit Singh, and Rajendra Rai also attended.

The Tibetan Assembly Speaker Furbu Damdul and community members extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries present. A lively cultural program featured Tibetan girls performing traditional Himachali songs, captivating the audience.


During the event, Asha Kumari, SDM Anil Bhardwaj, Vandana Chaddha, and Dr. G.S. Dhillon received special mementos in recognition of their contributions. The dignitaries spoke about the life and teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, underscoring his messages of peace, compassion, and humanity.


This celebration highlighted the strong connection between the Tibetan community and the residents of Dalhousie, showcasing a spirit of cultural harmony and mutual respect for His Holiness.
