In preparation for the upcoming monsoon season, the Dalhousie Municipal Council has launched a dedicated initiative aimed at cleaning the city's drainage system to ensure proper water flow. Following the guidance of Council President Vandana Chadda, sanitation personnel are actively clearing silt, mud, and waste from drains throughout various wards and key roadways.
The main objective of this initiative is to avert waterlogging, unpleasant conditions, and disruptions for residents during heavy rainfall. The debris collected is being swiftly removed to enhance operational efficiency. Critical areas of the town are being closely monitored, with necessary resources allocated to address potential monsoon-related issues.
President Vandana Chadda highlighted the council's commitment to finishing the drain cleaning process before the onset of the rains. She urged residents to refrain from disposing of waste in the drains and to assist in maintaining a clean and safe Dalhousie. She stated, “Clean drains, safe Dalhousie” reflects the council’s dedication to overcoming every challenge posed by the monsoon.
