Major Drug Bust at Indira Gandhi International Airport

The Customs Department has successfully intercepted approximately ₹21 crore worth of cocaine from two travelers at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, leading to their arrest. This information was disclosed by officials on Friday.


According to the authorities, the suspects were apprehended upon their arrival from Bangkok, Thailand, on December 31. Both individuals, hailing from Gujarat, arrived on separate flights to Delhi.


In a post on social media, the Customs Department revealed, "During the inspection of two black trolley bags, officials discovered polyethylene bags concealed inside, containing a white substance suspected to be narcotics."


The department reported that the total weight of the seized substance is 2,095.5 grams, with preliminary investigations indicating it to be cocaine. The estimated street value of the recovered drugs in the international market is approximately ₹20.95 crore. Both travelers have been taken into custody, and an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
