A lively cultural event named “Umang” took place today, organized by the Central Students’ Organization at Government Arya College, Nurpur. The festivities commenced with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp by Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur, who served as the chief guest. In his remarks, he underscored the significance of culture and tradition in societal development.
The program kicked off with a heartfelt Saraswati Vandana, followed by an array of vibrant performances, including group dances, solo poetry recitals, and traditional Pahari folk dances. Students also delivered impactful performances addressing social issues through dance and poetry, highlighting their creativity and talent.
During his address, Principal Dr. Thakur commended the students for their artistic skills and emphasized the importance of cultural activities in fostering the overall growth of students. He urged them to engage actively in co-curricular pursuits alongside their academic responsibilities.
The event wrapped up with a vote of thanks from Dr. Daljit Singh, Acharya of the college, who conveyed his best wishes to the students. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, attended by both faculty and students.
