CRPF Launches Jammu and Kashmir's First Pickleball Court to Boost Fitness
Enhancing Community Engagement Through Sports
In an effort to foster fitness and community involvement, the 84 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has established sports facilities and inaugurated the first Pickleball court in Jammu and Kashmir. Commandant N. Ranbir Singh of the 84 Battalion highlighted the importance of physical fitness for CRPF personnel. To facilitate this, the battalion in Ramban has created a comprehensive fitness infrastructure that includes several modern gyms and various sports amenities. Despite the demanding nature of their security responsibilities and limited time, the personnel actively utilize these facilities to maintain their fitness levels. The introduction of the pickleball court, coinciding with Shaurya Diwas, underscores the force's commitment to embracing new sports and promoting overall health.
CRPF's Dedication to Physical Preparedness
Singh emphasized that these training and fitness programs are crucial for ensuring that CRPF personnel remain confident and capable of tackling challenges in various operational settings. He stated, "Physical fitness is essential for every officer. With this in mind, we have developed extensive facilities at the 84 Battalion in Ramban. Our personnel often spend long hours on road security duties, which limits their time for fitness. We have established 21 state-of-the-art gyms, with daily usage by 30-40 individuals, along with an open gym available to everyone. Our facilities now feature volleyball, handball, basketball courts, lawn tennis, badminton, and the newly opened pickleball court, which reflects our commitment to fitness. As the largest internal security force in India, CRPF leverages extensive experience from various conflict zones across the country. Our training and fitness infrastructure ensures that personnel are confident and ready to face any challenge."
