Overview of the CRPF Chief's Visit

On Tuesday, the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), G.P. Singh, assessed the operational readiness of the force in the Kashmir Valley. During his visit, he toured the premises of the CRPF's 181 Battalion in Charar-e-Sharif and met with unit commanders.


Focus on Security and Upcoming Pilgrimage

Singh is currently on a three-day trip to Jammu and Kashmir. A senior official stated that the DG's visit aims to review the overall security situation and the preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra. This visit comes at a crucial time as preparations for the 2025 Amarnath pilgrimage are underway, which is set to commence on July 3.


Detailed Inspections and Discussions

Upon arriving in Srinagar, DG Singh proceeded directly to Charar-e-Sharif to conduct a thorough inspection of the 181 Battalion. Accompanied by senior officials, including Vithul Kumar (SDG, Operations Directorate), Rajesh Kumar (ADG, Jammu-Kashmir Zone), and others, he engaged in in-depth discussions with ground commanders regarding the current security environment and the operational readiness of the force.


Strategic Review and Soldier Engagement

During his visit, DG Singh reviewed deployment strategies and evaluated the force's capabilities to respond to emerging threats, particularly in ensuring a safe and peaceful pilgrimage for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. A spokesperson for the CRPF noted that the DG's visit not only focused on the overall security landscape but also on the force's preparedness for the pilgrimage starting in early July. Following this, he held a soldier conference to address their concerns and commend their commitment to duty and service to the nation.

He expressed confidence that the force would continue to serve the nation with enthusiasm and valor. Later that day, upon returning to Srinagar, the DG participated in a conference lasting over three hours with the DIGs and commanding officers of the 47 battalions stationed in the valley.
