A Remarkable Achievement for CRPF

New Delhi: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the largest paramilitary organization in India, has achieved a remarkable milestone by recording a full year without any operational fatalities among its personnel, a feat not seen in 47 years, according to the force's chief.

On Sunday, CRPF Director General G P Singh shared this significant news on social media, emphasizing its importance as the force remains actively engaged in various critical operational areas.

Singh noted, "This is a significant milestone in CRPF's history – we have completed 12 consecutive months without any operational fatalities, with the last incident occurring on October 30, 2025. This achievement marks the first such period since January 1979."

Officials reported that nine CRPF members lost their lives during operational duties in 2025 up until October 30.

With a strength of approximately 325,000 personnel, the CRPF plays a crucial role in maintaining internal security across India, focusing on three primary areas: anti-Naxal operations, counter-terrorism efforts in Jammu and Kashmir, and counter-insurgency operations in the northeastern states.

Established in 1939 during British rule, the force was renamed the CRPF in 1949, two years after India gained independence. Official records indicate that 2,270 of its officers and jawans have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
