Nashik, July 18: A tragic incident unfolded in Nashik, Maharashtra, where a 20-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by a 26-year-old man, who later was discovered hanging from a tree, leading authorities to suspect a murder-suicide scenario.
As per police reports, the suspect, Sahil Ashok Lavare, attacked Vaishnavi Avare near a temple in the Indiranagar area late Friday night, before allegedly taking his own life at a nearby jogging track in the early hours of Saturday.
Witnesses reported hearing the victim's screams, prompting residents to rush to the scene; however, the assailant had already fled by the time they arrived. Tragically, Vaishnavi succumbed to her injuries before medical help could reach her.
Hours later, around 3 A.M., Sahil was found hanging from a tree at the jogging track, leading police to believe he took his own life following the murder.
Officials revealed that Vaishnavi was a student residing in the area as a paying guest. Initial investigations suggested that the two had met earlier that evening, and it was suspected that the attack stemmed from unrequited love.
However, further inquiries indicated that the couple had been in a live-in relationship for approximately two years. Reports suggest that the attack occurred after Vaishnavi declined Sahil's marriage proposal.
Following the alleged murder, Sahil reportedly went to the jogging track where he ended his life. Authorities have initiated a murder case and are conducting a thorough investigation to clarify the events and motives surrounding this tragic incident.
Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
