Tragic Murder Case: Woman Killed by Lover in Home Invasion
Incident Overview
In a shocking incident, a woman was murdered by her lover who broke into her home. The assailant, identified as Aslam Ansari, also known as Aslam Khan, fled the scene but was later apprehended by police during a confrontation.
The suspect, a resident of Sikandar Pur Patti, confessed to the crime during interrogation, admitting that the murder occurred following a dispute. He is expected to be presented in court on Friday and subsequently remanded to jail.
Details of the Incident
The tragic event took place in Baldevpuri, where the victim, a mother of four, lived with her family. Her husband reported that she had attended a wedding in a nearby village on Wednesday.
She had informed him that she would stay overnight due to the cold weather and return home the next morning. Around 7:30 PM on Wednesday, she called to ask about a charger, and shortly after, she called again to say she would not be returning home that night due to unsafe travel conditions.
The following morning, the husband learned of his wife's murder from her brother.
Children's Testimony
Upon returning home, the husband found his children locked in a room. His daughter revealed that Aslam Khan had been visiting their home for the past year and had threatened both the wife and children if they opposed him.
On the night of the incident, Aslam arrived at their home, locked the children in a lower room, and took the wife upstairs. The children heard their mother's voice until around 9 PM, but they were unable to reach her due to the locked door. The next morning, they called out for her but received no response.
When they opened a window to shout for help, a neighbor came to their aid and opened the door. They found their mother lying near the bed, unresponsive, while the assailant had already fled.
Police Investigation
Upon receiving news of the murder, the local police, led by CO Ashish Pratap Singh, along with forensic teams, arrived at the scene. Initial investigations confirmed that the woman had been strangled, a finding corroborated by the autopsy report.
In response to the crime, two police teams were quickly formed to locate the suspect. Later that evening, authorities received a tip-off indicating that Aslam was attempting to escape.
Police tracked him to a precise location, where he opened fire upon seeing them. In the ensuing exchange, he was shot in the leg and subsequently apprehended. He was taken to the hospital, and a firearm along with a motorcycle was seized from him.
