Tragic Hit-and-Run Incident Claims Three Lives in Karnataka

Chamarajanagar, Sep 11: A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred near R.S. Doddi in the Hanur taluk of Karnataka's Chamarajanagar district, resulting in the immediate deaths of three individuals, as reported by local authorities on Friday. The police have initiated a search for the driver responsible for the accident.
The victims have been identified as Ramesh, Suresh, and Muniyappa, all hailing from Koppa village in the same taluk.
According to police reports, the trio was riding a motorcycle late Thursday night, heading from Koppa village to Kollegal via R.S. Doddi for urgent matters. An unidentified car, traveling at high speed from behind, collided with their motorcycle and fled the scene without stopping.
The impact was so severe that all three sustained significant injuries and succumbed to their wounds at the scene.
Upon receiving the report, the Hanur police arrived at the location to conduct an investigation. The bodies have been transported to Kollegal Government Hospital for autopsy.
Authorities have gathered car parts found at the accident site and are intensifying their efforts to locate the fleeing vehicle and its driver by reviewing road and CCTV footage from nearby areas.
A case has been filed at the Hanur police station, and the investigation is ongoing. More details regarding the incident are expected to emerge.
This incident follows another tragic event on August 9, where two men lost their lives after an unidentified vehicle allegedly struck their motorcycle near Konanakeri village in Hanur taluk. The victims, Yuvaraj, 50, from Martalli village, and Shashank, 25, from Maddur taluk in Mandya district, were traveling towards Kollegala from Male Mahadeshwara Hills.
In a separate incident earlier in August, a tech worker riding a bike taxi suffered severe head injuries in a hit-and-run on ITPL Main Road, resulting in a coma, prompting family members to demand quicker police action.
Additionally, in May, an Audi vehicle collided with an electric scooter, leading to the death of a 45-year-old man and injuries to his wife and daughter, with the driver fleeing the scene.
In March, an SUV struck a motorcycle, dragging it before catching fire as the occupants attempted to escape.
